Corectopia

Corectopia refers to an ophthalmic condition in which the pupil (of eye) is not located in the centre of the iris, as is normal.

Corectopia may also be defined as "eccentric location of the pupil so that it is not in the center of the iris".

The pupil may be displaced away from its normal position to one side (right or left) or the other. When corectopia is present from birth (i.e. "congenital"), the displacement of the pupil is usually towards the nose. If the cause is not congenital it may be due to trauma or scarring (e.g. of the iris).
