Adductor Longus

The adductor longus is a muscle located in the inside upper-thigh.

It is easy to work out the function of the adductor longus because an adductor is any muscle that moves one part of the body towards another, or towards the mid-line of the body. The adductor longus, one of which is located in each leg, moves the leg towards the mid-line of the body.

Origin, Insertion and Actions of the Adductor Longus muscle:

Point(s) of Origin:
  • Superior pubic ramus, just below the crest of the pubic bone
Point(s) of Insertion:
  • Middle third of the linea aspera of the femur bone
