Workshops on the use of third party conformity assessment bodies for medical devices

Health News from Australia.

Invitation to participate in consultation workshop Consideration of the Use of Third Party Conformity Assessment Bodies for Medical Devices Supplied in Australia

As part of the Therapeutic Goods Administration's (TGA) consultation process on the use of third party conformity assessment bodies for medical devices supplied in Australia, this is an invitation to all interested parties to participate in a consultation workshop on the issue.

The aim of the workshops is to provide a forum where there can be a sharing of views and perspectives. Guest speakers at each of the workshops will include representative speakers from the Therapeutic Goods Administration and Australian industry, as well as the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). As the United Kingdom and the United States make use of third party conformity assessments to different extents this will be a valuable opportunity to hear of the experiences of other regulatory environments. There will also be an opportunity for workshop participants to share their own viewpoints and experiences.

The TGA is organising two workshops - one in Sydney (17 March) and the second in Melbourne (18 March). These workshops will be half day morning seminars and attendance will be free of charge.

To assist us in facilitating these workshops, all attendees will need to complete prior registration. If you would like to attend, please complete the attached registration form, indicating your preferred workshop and details and return the form to the TGA. Places at the workshops are strictly limited by venue size. The TGA will confirm your registration and provide you with further workshop and venue details.
