Agency seeks nominee to Veterinary Products Committee
The Veterinary Products Committee (VPC) is an independent body that advises Ministers on all issues relating to the control of veterinary medicines. Members provide scientific advice to the Government on the safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines.
The VPC is currently advertising for ten new members and the FSA nominee will be appointed as part of this recruitment.
The FSA is looking for someone with expertise in food safety/risk assessment, and chemical safety issues such as public health and the assessment of risks to consumers. Any candidate should have relevant scientific qualifications with considerable postgraduate experience, be recognised by the scientific community in their field, and be able to contribute to detailed technical discussions in their area of expertise.
Candidates should be enthusiastic and share the FSA aims of putting the consumer first, being open and accessible and being an independent voice.
